My boss wants me to try numbering my document in a very complex way:
-No page number on page 1
-Roman numerals on some intro pages
-Each section numbered differently (A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2, etc.). Also, each section has to start on the right side, and have no header on the first page (and all the rest of the pages have a header), so I already have to have a special page style for the first page of each section.
-The page numbers also need to appear in a table of contents and an index.
I've figured out how to not have the page number on page 1 and how to do the Roman numerals. However, numbering the sections has completely flummoxed me. I can't seem to get the letters to appear in the page numbers on the footers, and I'm having trouble getting the sections to number correctly since I can't just use one particular page style for each section; I have to have at least two page styles. If I manually put in the letters on the page numbers, the letters don't appear in the table of contents or the index. Short of manually numbering everything, is there any way to get my document to do what my boss is asking for?
Thanks!
