problem with ASCII Filter Options

Hi,
Because I'm not good in searching and finding needed answer/s through 'wondering' on any kind of forum & that's why I've decided to ask for someone's help assistance with my dilemma, which looks like this: 'for unknown to me reason/s, today, I wasn't able to open & read my 'old' documents, receiving this 'respond' - 'ASCII Filter Options box with a choice of some 'programs', which neither was able to resolve my problem.
If possible, pls, help me with it, what will be much appreciated.

Hi Adam,

The ASCII Filter Options box usually only appears if you try to open the wrong type of file using OpenOffice.org (i.e. a file type that OOo doesn't support for editing such as PDF), or if the file has become corrupted in some way.

What do you mean by

'old' documents

When did you last open these documents?

Hello Paul,

Thank you for your respose & willingness to help me with this matter.
As far as I remeber, last time I''ve open these docks few months ago
& this time, I've decided to download them into USB, but for some
reason (pls, don't ask me why & how that happen), instead put them
into USB I've try to put them into DVD-RW Drive (E:) & after that 'operation'
I was not able to open/use any of those documents.
Also, I'd like to add that I've been using OO3.0 & in the meantime I've upgrade
it to 3.1.1
If possible, pls, tell me if there is anything it can be dome for fix this problem,
because some of these docks are with kind of inportant info.

Sorry for the delayed reply. I can't really see how an attempt to copy them to a DVD drive would have any effect on the files themselves

If you could send me one of the files via PM, I will see if there's anything that can be retrieved from it.
