8daysaweek.co.uk is a site for anyone who wants to get the most from their computer without having to pay for overpriced software. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, our aim is to make it easy for you to install the software you need to get things done. On this site you will find Office, Photo, Educational and Music software, as well as utilities that will help you to protect your data, clean away unnecessary files and perform other useful functions.

Established in 2003, 8daysaweek.co.uk began as a website for users of the OpenOffice.org Office Suite. We now also provide information and support for other Open Source Software (OSS) and Freeware. If you don't know what open source software is, please read our Information for new visitors page to find out why it's so good. Open Source programs are worth looking into for both home and business use as high quality alternatives to many well known applications.

What will I find on this site?

On this site you can buy CDs, DVDs* and USB keys with very easy to install open source software on them, and related items such as Ejector Cases. You can also find help and support. Our aim is to make the site user friendly and avoid (or explain) any technical language. We try our best to help beginners and more advanced users alike to benefit fully from open source software.

The main program we feature is OpenOffice.org (OOo) - a powerful, fully-featured Office Suite that is compatible with Microsoft Office. This means that you can open, edit and save files created with Word, Excel or PowerPoint using OpenOffice.org. It is a viable, genuine alternative to MS Office and other Office Suites.
